Yummy Fried Oyster Mushroom

Pleurotus
, more commonly known as oyster, abalone or tree mushrooms, are some of the most widely harvested and readily available mushrooms in the world. They are found in both tropical and temperate climates globally and they are generally large mushrooms that are cream in color.

They are generally found as white-rot fungi on hardwood trees or conifer wood. They have been given the name oyster mushrooms because they often tend to resemble the shape of an oyster shell. They are also are a good source of niacin, thiamine and riboflavin, and also supply folate and dietary fibre.

When shopping for oyster mushrooms, look for mushrooms with firm, dry skin and make sure you store them in a paper bag close to the bottom of the fridge if you can. Before you prepare them, wipe off with a damp cloth (never wash them or soak them to clean because they will become waterlogged) and trim the ends. You can then slice them if that's what your recipe requires.

  • For a quick and easy meal you can stir fry them with beef strips, garlic, ginger, any Asian greens you like and a dash of soy sauce to finish.
  • You can also stir them through Asian soups or stir-fry dishes near the end of cooking until they are just tender. They will liven up any Asian style meal with their unique flavour and texture.

Yesterday, my mum made this fried oyster mushroom. Not just like simply put it in the pan but togethe with the flour powder. Below will be the list of ingredients and recipes of my own.

Ingredients::

  • Oyster mushrooms
  • Eggs
  • Flour - I used the Adabi brand flour which is the chicken flour. You can use any brand of flour as long as you think is edible and tasty
How to make? ::

1. Beat the eggs until it feels light and fluffy
2. Coat the oyster mushrooms with the eggs
3. After coat it with the eggs coat them again with the flour of your choice
4. Put it in to the pan and fried it!
5. Fried it till it look golden and crispy
6. DONE AND SERVE IT!

Yeah a very confusing ingredients and recipes yet simple. I didn't manage to take photos of it as we were too hungry last night. Found some of the pictures on Google and mine just like those fried mushroom pictures below. Picture by LENGSKITCHEN

Chocolate Chip Biscuit

Last Monday on the 4th day of CNY my cousin and I decided to make chocolate chip biscuit. Talk no more and here is the simple recipe! :)

  • 75g brown sugar
  • 150g castor sugar
  • 200g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essen
  • 1 teaspoon of bikarbonate soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 300g of flour
  • 180g of chocolate chips & chocolate masale
Our first try was disaster when we put it on 175 degree for 20 minutes. Second try was half okay with 170 degree and next try was the best but I forgot the the temperature maybe. Sorry.

Reuse Those Empty Bottles!

I found so many items that can be reused back while cleaning the house before CNY that day. One of them is those empty bottles. My mum loves to buy bird nest. Even though it is expensive but when it concerns about our health money is not the problem. My mum bought this brand of bird nest where there are 6 or 9 bottles in one box. So I was thinking what can I do with these empty bottles?

I decided to turn it become my own piggy coin bottles! I do have my own cat and teddy bear coin bank but all those coins are mixed up! When those bank coins are full I have to take all those coins out and count them back. Hey! It was not easy to separate those 10, 20 and 50 coins okay! With this bottles I can easily count how many 10 cents coins in there and so for the others. I'm not that artist type persona doesn't like to decorate much so I just simply put a paper cello-tape with the coin label.

P/S - So what is your idea to reuse those empty bottles? :)

Have you ever tried durian puff before? Before that can you help me to click THIS? Thanks so much!

Well I do! Last Saturday went to WM mall and found a small corner stall selling durian puff and durian ice-cream. Now in your mind you might be asking..they must use those fake artificial flave right? Well tell you what. Hell you're WRONG! They used PURE ORIGINAL durian and blend it and then make it become ice cream and puff! Seriously the puff is damn nice and my mum even ate 2 cone of durian ice-cream!

The filling is easy to made. Just use durian and blend it! Lol. But the puff? The pastry are quite hmm hard. You can go to HERE to check on 4 easy ways to make the puff. Oops sorry wrong link. Here :)
